Open Work Permit

An open work permit exempts foreign nationals from having to receive a positive LMIA for employment in Canada or a formal job offer, with the added advantage of not being “job-specific”, thus allowing individuals to work for any Canadian employer.

Some of those who may be eligible for an open work permit include: international students who have graduated from a designated learning institution, sponsored spouses or partners under the family sponsorship class, spouses or partners of foreign workers and international students, refugees, and temporary resident permit holders.
